Participants at the 2017 Annual Convention (Jalsa Salana) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Ghana have been urged to actively participate in all activities of the convention in order to attain the maximum benefits of spiritual upliftment that it presents.
Maulvi Yusuf Bin Salih, the Upper East Regional Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, gave the admonition when he spoke on the topic “Objectives, Purpose and Blessings of Jalsa Salana” at the dawn session on Thursday, January 12, 2017.
He said the Jalsa is aimed at strengthening spiritual union and affords believers the opportunity to ask for forgiveness of sin. He added that the primary purpose of the Convention was to enable every sincere individual to personally experience religious benefits, they may enhance their knowledge and due to their being blessed and enabled by Allah, the Exalted- their perception [of Allah] may progress. Maulvi Salih said, the congregational meetings would also promote mutual understanding among all brothers, and strengthen the fraternal ties within the Ahmadiyya Community.
He quoted the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) to have said that “It is essential for all those who can afford to undertake the journey, that they must come to attend this Convention which embodies many blessed objectives. They should disregard minor inconveniences in the cause of Allah and His prophet (peace be upon him.). Allah yields reward to the sincere persons at every step of their way, and no labour and hardship, undertaken in His way, ever goes to waste. I re-emphasize that you must not rank this convention in the same league as other, ordinary, human assemblies. This is a phenomenon that is based purely on the Divine Help, for propagation of Islam.”
Maulvi Salih said since 1907 when the convention was first held in Qadian, various countries across the world including Ghana hold the Jalsa every year. This, he said, has helped the Ahmadiyya Community to grow from strength to strength.
Maulvi Salih asked participants to use the opportunity to pray for those individuals who sacrificed and devoted their lives to ensure the smooth running of the jalsa. He urged families to train their children in Islam through Ahmadiyya.
