Alhamdulliah, on July 9, 2017, Abura Circuit Atfal held its first maiden Atfal Academic competition at Abura Ahmadiyya school (B) at Abura. The event was graced by Naib Muhtamin Atfal, Mr Saeed Bin Usman, Nazim Atfal Central West region, Abdul Ghafar Kweku Etsie, Nazim Atfal of Abura Circuit, Saeed Ahmed Abakah, Former Nazim Atfal of Abura Circuit, Abura Circuit Atfal committee member, Hameed Mohammed Essuman and Abura Circuit Atfal committee member, Yakubu Buabeng.
106 members participated comprising five Khuddam, 50 Atfal, 47 Nasirat and four lajna. The event commenced with recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Saeed Ahmed Abakah followed with an opening prayer by Yakubu Buabeng.
The Nazim Atfal of the region briefed the Atfal on the essence of the event. He said the essence of the competition ‘sire the Islamic knowledge and know how to showcase that Knowledge as a Tifl. He emphasized on the blessings one will gain from taking part in such event. He advised the Atfal to take their Islamic knowledge seriously and also prepare to sacrifice their time to learn the Islamic teachings. He advised the Atfal gathered to always take part in such programs when organized in the Circuit.
The Nazim Atfal for Central West region, Abdul Ghafar Kweku Etsie used the occasion to remind the Atfal about the upcoming Tarbbiyat classes at E-Amass and the national itjema 2017 at Accra.
The Naib Muhtamin Atfal, Mr. Saeed Bin Usman urged those who have finished learning the Yassarnal and the Holy Qur’an to teach others. He indicated that the Holy Prophet Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in a hadith (Bukhari) stated that “The best of you is the one who learns the Qur’an and teaches it”. He remarked that the need for learning the teachings of the Holy Qur’an is to attain nearness to our Creator. He ended his speech by thanking the Abura Circuit Atfal committee for organizing such competition in the circuit and also thanked the Atfal for coming in their numbers to grace the event.
The Nazim Atfal for Abura Circuit spelt out the rules and regulations for the competitions and urged every tifl to take part in the competition. The competitions exhibited included Qur’an reading, Qur’an memorization, Salat performance, Azan calling and among other competitions. Both the former Abura Circuit Atfal Nazim (Hameed Mohammed Essuman) and Abura Circuit Atfal committee member (Yakubu Buabeng) advised the Atfal to take their prayers and academics very seriously and also respect their parents, elders and teachers.
At the end, the Nazim Atfal for Abura Circuit encouraged them to always come for classes and thanked Naib Muhtamin Atfal, Nazim Atfal Central West Region, Abura Atfal committee members and the Atfal at large for gracing the wonderful event. He led the closing prayer to mark the end of the event.
