The Ameen program is a ceremonial program for Atfal (male from the ages of 7 to 14) who have read the Holy Qur’an from Suratul Fatiha to Suratul Nas under the supervision of a Murabi (teacher), parent or guardian.
On June 4, 2017, the Greater Accra Majlis Khuddam-ul Ahmadiyya organised its maiden edition of the quarterly program at Bustan-e-Ahmad. It saw the presence of Mr. Jawaad Hammond (Muhtamim Atfal), Mr. Iddriss Ninsin (Qaid Ilaqa, Greater Accra), Mr. Ahmed Mensah (Naib Qaid Ilaqa), Ustaz Hameed Mohammed (Tutor and Missionary Ahmadiyya International School), Ustaz Ghaffur Saeed (Missionary MTA), Mr. Mannan Bentil (Add. Mutamad Ilaqa), Mr. Sadique Adam K. N (Nazim Atfal) and Mr. Abdullah Arhin (Add. Nazim Atfal).
The chairman for the occasion was Mr. Iddriss Ninsin. The program started with the recitation of a portion of the Holy Qur’an by Abdul Rahim Dadzie followed by an opening prayer by Ustaz Hameed Mohammed. Brother Nuhu Essuman led in the recitation of the Atfal pledge.
Mr. Jawaad Hammond spoke to participants about the importance of reading Qur’an and teaching others making reference to hadith which states “the best among you is the one who learns the Qur’an and teaches others”. He encouraged participants to help in teaching others the Qur’an. He also spoke about the reporting format of the office of the Atfal and explain to the nazimeen the best ways to report.
The occasion recorded 12 Atfal with six honoured and awarded for completing the reading of the Holy Qur’an. The six are Sadique Oddoye, Ahmad Oddoye, Nuhu Essuman from the Abbosey Okai Circuit, Salifu Anwar, Nasir Ahmed from the Kasoa Circuit and Farhan Hashim from Nima Circuit.
