Story by Malek Appiah Affum, Qaid Ilaqa, Eastern Region
The Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, Eastern Region of Ghana has launched a social media campaign dubbed #WhatIsYourJihad leading to their 18th Annual Regional Ijtema (Rally) which comes off from Saturday, July 1 to Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the Zion LA Primary School at Achiase in Akim Oda.
The theme for this year’s regional rally is “The True Meaning of Jihad”.
Mr. Malek Affum, the Regional Qaid believes the true meaning of the word “Jihad” has been distorted by Muslims and non-muslims which has contributed to the negative image of Islam and its followers.
“The intention of the campaign is to help change the public perception of what “Jihad” actually means”, he said. It is also to support the relentless efforts of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V , Mirza Masroor Ahmad (may Allah be his Helper) in educating the world about the beautiful teachings of Islam as taught by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
He therefore encouraged all members to join the campaign and share their thoughts with the hashtag #WhatIsYourJihad on twitter and Facebook to keep the conversation alive.
