Ahmadi Muslims all over the world have been charged to be in the front line of the campaign of making corruption unattractive. They are to do this by desisting from acts of corruption and living righteous lives as taught by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) as well as the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community.
The Ameer & Missionary-In-Charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Ghana, Alhaj Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih, who made the call said Ghana is currently wallowing in weight of corruption which is derailing efforts of patriotic citizens aimed at advancing the growth of the nation.
He delivered the Friday sermon at the 85th Annual National Convention currently taking place at Bagh-e-Ahmad, Pomadze in Ghana.
The Ameer said corruption could be found at all levels of national life of the Ghanaian, describing it as the order of the day. He described corruption as a disease that is seriously plaguing Ghanaians which needs urgent attention. He said, the Holy Qur’an makes it explicitly clear that whatever disease that affects a people, Allah has provided a cure.
He therefore admonished members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community to live their lives in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Qur’an in order to cure corruption among themselves.
The Ameer said, Allah Almighty has tasked mankind in the Holy Qur’an to be honest, speak the truth at all times even if against oneself, and eat of things that are pure. These directives go a long way in delivering people from acts of corruption.
He said, anyone who obtains wealth through dubious and unlawful means incurs the wrath of Allah and warned Ahmadi muslims against corrupt practices in both private and public lives. He added that, when one abstains from corruption, that person would be able to do good deeds to impact on the lives of other people and attain nearness to Allah.
Maulvi Salih said, when acts of corruption become unattractive to Ghanaians, Ghana would be able to produce upright citizens in every field of human endeavour to occupy high offices in the country.
