Participants of the 85th Annual Jalsa Salana (National Convention) have been urged to abide by all rules and regulations at the jalsa venue. They are also entreated to respect directives to be given by the khuddam stationed at vantage points. This way, the success of the jalsa as envisaged by all would be realized.
The Ameer & Missionary-In-Charge of the Ahmadiyya Ghana, Maulvi Alhajj Muhammad Bin Salih gave the advice in his welcoming message during the opening session of the conference.
The Ameer said, the Khuddam have been given directives in their duties but oftentimes, members of the jamaat disobey their orders making things quiet difficult for all.
According to Maulvi Salih, the Khuddam in uniform will not try to prevent people from doing one thing or the other but will merely enforce specific instructions assigned them.
He said, the success of the jalsa cannot be realized if members do not submit to the directives from the Khuddam.
Maulvi Salih said, “the young boy or man directing you could be your son or grandson but as long as he is in uniform, he becomes an embodiment of the jamaat, and if you obey him, you are obeying the jamaat but if you disobey him, you are disobeying the jamaat”.
The Ameer said, members of the National Jalsa Planning Committee (NJPC) have demarcated routes for men and women at the jalsa grounds in keeping with Islamic traditions. He entreated all to respect, comply and also “copy and go home and live with that culture”.
He was worried, however, about some unacceptable behaviour of some participants and advised that, members should refrain from idleness and any other activity that is not profitable to our physical and spiritual well being. He said, the Khuddam have been instructed to ensure that people are not allowed in secluded places after 9pm.
Maulvi Salih encouraged all to have “an eagle eye” during the jalsa as some people have come to engage in pilfering and other criminal acts. He said, anyone found culpable should be apprehended and handed over to the jalsa security taskforce for counselling and or other appropriate action.
