The Achimota Circuit in the Accra Zone of the Majlis Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya, Ghana has held its maiden Atfal rally on the theme Good Behavior and Discipline in Atfal: A Religious Obligation. The chairperson for the occasion was Mr Ahmed Jawaad Hammond, Muhtamim Atfal, MKA-GH.
The rally commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an by Master Abdul-Karim Sungnuma, a tifl in the circuit and student of T.I. Ahmadiyya International School, Accra. Opening prayer was led by Murabi Mohammed Adams, Achimota Circuit Missionary.
After leading the gathering to recite the Atfal pledge, Mr. Nurudeen Abdulai, Achimota Nazim Atfal gave his welcome address by indicating that the theme for the rally was particularly chosen because of the role good behavior and self-discipline play in any successful and purposeful life. He added that “just as trees need frequent watering and good nurturing at the initial stage to get good groundings and strength in future, good behavior and discipline among children prepares them for a successful life in the future”.
The principal speaker for the occasion, Murabi Mohammed Adams, advised the children on the need to demonstrate good and disciplined behavior. He challenged the participants to develop a positive attitude towards praying 5 times a day without coercion from parents or guardians. He further disclosed that it is only with prayers that man can inherit the kingdom of Allah eternally in heaven. He counselled the children to be punctual in offering the Farz Salaat as Huzoor(atba) has always advised.
Academic competitions were held on 2-category basis; ages 7-10 in one category and ages 11-15 in another category. In all, the children participated in Tilawat, Hifz-e-Quran and Azan Calling. The best 3 were chosen from each of the categories for the finals. All participants of the academic competitions were awarded.
45 Atfal, 3 khuddam and 1 Nasir attended the program.
