Atfal Ashanti, organized their 3rd Regional Ijtemaa under the theme “Upbringing of Children in Islam, The Role of Stakeholders” on the 7th – 8th of July 2017. 11 out of 13 circuits in Ashanti Region participated in this Ijtemaa. Members from all these circuits participated in various academic and sporting activities.
With regards to the academic competition, there was an introduction of a new activity this year called “Atfal Speech Delivery”. Members were tasked to deliver a speech on the topic “Obedience to Parents”. Abdul Mateen Arthur of Atonsu Circuit dazzled both the audience and the judges on this topic where he quoted from the Holy Qur’an and the sayings of the Promised Messiah (on whom be peace) in support of his delivery.
Mr. Saeed Mohammed Clement (Nazim Atfal, Ashanti Region) in his welcoming address pleaded with parents to encourage their children to attend classes at the various learning centres.
The Naib Muhtamin Atfal, Mr. Saeed Bin Usman added that it was incumbent upon all parents to take the learning of their wards seriously. He related a hadith where the Holy Prophet Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is reported to have said that if you give birth to a child and you educate him/her with Islamic knowledge, this child will pray for you when you are no more.
There was also a health talk by Dr. Mubarak Boateng, who educated them on personal hygiene and good grooming.
The chairman for the program was Master Khalid Gyamfi and the co-chairman was the Naib Muhtamin Atfal Mr. Saeed Bin Usman.
The Ashanti Regional Qaid, Mr. Abdul Wahab Adusei, the Ashanti Naib Qaid I and II Mr. Hakeem Kontoh and Mahmoud Eninn, the Naib Nazim Atfal Mr. Ahmed Oduro Aboagye, the Nazim Tabligh, Nazim Tarbiyyat, some parents and nasrat were present.
294 Atfal and 47 Khuddam participated in this ijtemaa.
